The Nobel Prize in Physics 2019

Hello bloggers,
Its me Alan and this is one of the summer learning journey's activity. The activity is this :

For this activity, please follow this link to view the list of Nobel Prize winners, choose one, read about them and then share your learning on your blog.
On your blog, tell your readers who you chose and then tell us about them in five to ten sentences. Who were they? What did they do that was so special? Feel free to include a picture of your chosen Nobel Prize winner on your blog.

So I am going to complete it. The one chose is James peebles who one a nobel prize in physics. He was born in 25 April 1935, Winnipeg, Canada.Peebles was awarded half of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2019 for his theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology. He shared the prize with Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz for their discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a sun-like star. In his award presentation, Peebles noted that he does not prefer the term "Big Bang Theory", since "it connotes the notion of an event and a position, both of which are quite wrong." While much of his work relates to the development of the universe from its first few seconds, he is more skeptical about what we can know about the very beginning, and stated, "It's very unfortunate that one thinks of the beginning whereas in fact, we have no good theory of such a thing as the beginning."

So that's it I hope you liked my blog post and please write me a comment.

  1. Kia ora Alan,

It's good to see that you're still working through the programme - well done! :)
Unfortunately, it looks like you've copied quite a bit of the information in this post directly from the internet. It's absolutely fine for you to use the internet to help you with the activities but we ask that whatever you post is written in your own words. If you would like to be awarded the full number of points for this activity please re-write the information you have shared so that it is in your own words.

    Thanks Alan. :)

    Blog ya later!

  2. Hello Alan, its me Parwin!

Great work on completeing yet another SLJ activity! Its great that you have included some great information and you also added a photo as well!

This reminds me of when I did this and I chosen Malala because I wanted to know more about her and guess what? She got shot in the head when she was in the bus but she managed to survive!

I think that to improve, maybe you could add what the SLJ is for those who might not know what it is!

This may be the 2nd or 3rd time you have done this where you copied and pasted something from the internet. As Mikey has said, you have to change it and write it in your own words to earn full points!

How come you chose Jim Peebles?

    Awesome work!

Looking forward to your next posts,
    Parwin
